BOONE ó Appalachian State and Wofford will renew their rivalry on Halloween in front of a national television audience.
The schools said Monday their 2008 football game has been moved up a day to Oct. 31. The Friday night matchup will kick off at 8 p.m. and be televised by ESPN2.
While Appalachian State went 13-2 last season and won a third straight national championship, the Mountaineers had to share the Southern Conference title with Wofford. The Terriers ended Appalachian Stateís 17-game winning streak in September, three weeks after the Mountaineers stunned Michigan.
Wofford went 9-4 last season and lost in the quarterfinals of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
