Sherrill fanned Danny Weiss with the bases loaded.
Brett Shore (South Rowan) went 3-for-3 for Davidson.

Trevor Leonard and Chaz Frank had three hits apiece to lead Central Davidson to a 9-6 victory over Ragsdale at Finch Field on Saturday.
n Ace at WarriorAl Michael made a hole-in-one at Warrior Golf Club on Saturday.
He aced the 170-yard No. 12 hole with a 5-iron. The feat was witnessed by Tom Stepko and Jenni Stepko.
n Iredell/Rowan golfThe Iredell/Rowan Golf Association won 11-4 in a Ryder Cup format match with the Golf Players Association of Raleigh on Saturday.
