Gatlinburg tournamentA number of Salisburians will compete in the Gatlinburg, Tenn. Regional Bridge Tournament scheduled for April 14-20. Details are in the March District 7 News.
Congratulations are extended to Dan Fowler and Wayne Pegram, the trophy winners in the recent Salisbury Dogwood Tournament. Fowler won the Phil Sowers trophy which is awarded to the player scoring the most Master points in the tournament. Pegram won the Bob Lemmon Silver Tray which goes to the non-Life Master scoring the most Master points.Betsy Bare and Myrtle Brandon placed first in the ACBL Charity duplicate game last Tuesday evening at the Salisbury Woman’s Club.
Other winners were: Gloria Bryant and June Evans, second; Becky Creekmore and Marie Pugh, third; Judy Hurder and Billy Burke, fourth.

Myrnie and John McLaughlin fulfilled a six-diamonds-doubled contract for the best E/W score on this deal. The Hurder/Burke pair got the top N/S score since their E/W opponents played a three no trumps contract, making only three.
In the Evergreen Club’s April 4 duplicate game, Ruth Bowles and Marie Pugh took first place N/S.
Pete Dare and Lucy Brown were the top E/W pair.
