Thumbs up, Thumbs down

Thumbs up to the much-needed rain Kannapolis has received in the past week. The city has gotten 2.2 inches for the month, and more is expected.
The lake level is 23 inches below full pond, says Wilmer Melton, director of Public Works for Kannapolis. That doesn’t mean the city is out of water restriction requirements just yet.
As of Jan. 30, the city had saved 135.3 million gallons of water since the start of restrictions. At the end of this month, Melton said the city will probably add another 15 million to that number of gallons saved.
Thumbs down to Cabarrus County Commissioner Coy Privette for dragging it on and on and on.
After pleading guilty last year to paying a prostitute for sex, Privette has announced he’s keeping his seat on the commission, but we have one question: What are you going to do, Mr. Privette, when your house sells, if it sells before your term is up?
Privette has listed his home on Cottage Drive with Century 21 real estate for $249,900. Doesn’t someone want to buy his home and put Cabarrus County out of its misery?
