Macie C. Turner
Macie Campbell Turner, 96, formerly of Oak Avenue, died June 18, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after a period of declining health.
Born Jan. 30, 1911, in northern Iredell County, Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late William Anderson and Margaret Pope Campbell.
She was raised on the family farm in Iredell County and worked almost 45 years in the Sheet Department of Cannon Mills, retiring in 1977.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she had taught and played piano for the Children’s Department and participated in an adult Sunday school class.
She had moved to Five Oaks Manor Nursing Home.
Her husband, Charles E. Turner, died in May 1964.
Survivors include brother Reece Campbell, Statesville, and many nieces and nephews.
A service was held June 20, 2007, at Whitley’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tom Cabaniss and the Rev. Norman Brisson. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
