A Granite Quarry man was charged Thursday with multiple counts of sex offenses against an underage girl.
Michael J. Hilton, 55, of 516 W. Bank St., was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center Thursday evening under $50,000 bond.
Hilton is charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child ó a girl who was younger than 16 and older than 5 at the time, according to documents filed at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
He’s also charged with three counts of first-degree sex offense with a child ó the same girl who was younger than 13 at the time, according to charging documents.
Granite Quarry Police Sgt. D.L. Holstein brought the charges against Hilton.
Officials at the Granite Quarry Police Department did not return calls Thursday night.
