Julia Melton Sloop
Julia Ann Melton Sloop, 48, Kannapolis, died May 8, 2007, at her home.
Born May 27, 1958, in Iredell County, Mrs. Sloop was a daughter of Sherry Green M. Therrell, Kannapolis and the late Carlos David Therrell, her stepfather.
She worked 23 years in the Wash Cloth Department of Cannon Mills Plant 1 and then eight years for KoSa.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include husband Doug Sloop; daughters Sherry Shinn, Concord, Keri Mills, Mooresville, and Tiffany Leffew, Kannapolis; brothers Donnie Melton, Rockwell, and Carl Therrell, Florida; sisters Jan Sides, Concord, and Diane Overcash, Kannapolis; and nine grandchildren.
A service was held Thursday (May 10, 2007) at Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gary Wayne Sloop. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
