Melvin B. Adcock
Melvin Boyce Adcock, 74, 1103 Birch St., died Nov. 21, 2006, at Hospice Home after a year of declining health.Born Oct. 26, 1932, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Adcock was a son of the late Mack Alexander and Lona Maples Adcock.
He worked for years as a pipe fitter for Cannon Mills. After retiring, he worked for Atlantic American Properties at the Kannapolis Visitor’s Center.
He was a member of First Assembly, Concord.
His daughter Sherry Adcock War, died in 1985.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice Honeycutt Adcock; sons Gary Adcock, Charlotte, Alvin Adcock, Concord, and Dean Adcock, Kannapolis; sisters Peggy Sims, Wingate, and Evelyn Christy, Kannapolis; brother C.L. Adcock, Kannapolis; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service was held Friday (Nov. 24, 2006) at Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Forest Jones. Entombment, Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.
