Letter: A more effective journey
I have only one question for the local officials who attended the junket to Mexico last September: why didn’t you instead go to Washington, D.C., or to Raleigh? While in our nation’s capital, you could have demanded better enforcement of immigration laws and improved border security. While in the state capital, you could have voiced strong opposition to the crazy regulations that allow virtually anyone — from truckloads of illegals to Hannibal Lecter himself — to have a driver’s license in North Carolina.
In other words, there were other, better things you could have done to address one of the most pressing issues of our times.
I suppose admiring those lovely dolls in Mexico was simply more important.
