Letter: Grateful for care son has received

Regarding recent articles in the Post about Brightmoor Nursing Center:

As a parent of someone in Brightmoor, all of what has appeared in the paper is not true.

My son is at Brightmoor (he has a short-term memory problem). He was very confused when he went there; now, he has gotten used to being there and is happy where he is. He has friends there and is well taken care of by the staff, like other residents.

Please do not believe what you read in the paper; sometimes you have to visit to see for yourself. If they close the doors to Brightmoor, there will be confusion all over again. My son has a roof over his head and three meals a day.

I pray every night for the person who started these bad rumors about Brightmoor. If you can live with yourself, I hope the Lord will forgive you. You aren’t in our shoes as we worry about where the residents might have to go!
