BOONE — Davis Bowne scored a game-high 16 points to lead Appalachian State past the College of Charleston 67-56 on Monday night.
D.J. Thompson added 14 points and 11 assists, while Jeremy Clayton and Kellen Brand scored 11 points each for Appalachian State (17-5, 9-2 Southern Conference).
Former West Rowan standout Donte Minter had two points and five rebounds in 17 minutes for the Mountaineers, who were coming off their biggest conference win since 1978.
ASU and UNC Greensboro are tied atop the North Division of the Southern Conference.
Philip McCandies and Josh Jackson led Charleston with 12 points apiece.

GREENSBORO — Kyle Hines scored a game-high 20 points to lead UNC Greensboro (12-9, 9-2 SoCon).
Ricky Hickman added 15 points for the Spartans, who won their sixth straight conference game.
