I am a concerned American citizen who votes, reads the newspaper, listens to the news, and I listened to our president’s State of the Union Address the other night.

I thought it was a pretty good speech, very reasonable in my opinion. Now, I listened to the media attacks and the Democratic Party attacks. They cry over our 3,000 casualties, which is very low for being at war for four-plus years. The Post ran an article on traffic deaths a few months ago, and our state killed 1,000 in a year. This is only one state out of 50!

Also, we have 96,000 deaths from disease each year in our nation’s hospitals, according the AARP. Is the media or the democratic party screaming over this? NO! Where is their plan (other than cut and run) to get out of Iraq?

I don’t think Americans are quitters! I don’t think the members of our military are quitters! We should not leave Iraq until we can leave it in an honorable fashion.

Oh, by the way, I am a veteran and proud of it!
