A Salisbury woman was charged Wednesday with two counts of felony child abuse after, authorities say, she over-medicated her two children.
Salisbury Police Chief Mark Wilhelm said the woman’s 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter suffered “seizure-like symptoms” Jan. 12 at Koontz Elementary School.
The children were taken by ambulance to Rowan-Regional Medical Center and doctors determined that both had been given high doses of a prescription drug, Wilhelm said.
The woman was placed in the Rowan County jail under $75,000 bond.
