Letter: These days, it's hard to make ends meet

Every time I turn around, the state of North Carolina is always charging taxes on this and taxes on that.

You pay taxes when you buy a car, and you have to pay N.C. taxes for having a car. Then, if you don’t pay when they want you to, they start messing with your paycheck. But when you get down on your luck and go to Social Services for some food stamps or other help, you can’t get anything!

I work every day, and it’s hard to make ends meet. Half the time, I can’t buy a crippled roach a crutch, let alone pay some taxes.
