Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and Linda Spencer of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Camille Spencer, to William Luther Penninger, both of Wilmington.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Spencer and the late Mrs. Dorothy Sanders, all of Hickory. A 1998 graduate of Salisbury High School, Leah graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 with a degree in communication studies and minor in English. She is in radio advertising sales at Cumulus Broadcasting LLC.

The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Penninger of Garner. A 1997 graduate of Garner Senior High School, William attended UNCW and graduated from Cape Fear Community College in 2005. He is a technician for ECS Carolinas LLP, an engineering consulting company.

The wedding is planned for March 10, 2007, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wilmington.
