Local fine art pieces going on display at Waterworks

Rowan County, believe it or not, is home to some serious art collectors.
One of them, Henry Alexander, suggested to Waterworks executive director
Lori McMahon that there was enough significant art in local collections to
hold a major show. She agreed, and Waterworks, with Alexander’s help, set
out to make it happen.
The show, which opens Friday, Jan. 19, features many local collectors,
including Alexander, Ed and Susan Norvell, Davis Cooke and the Rev. Robert
and Ruth Battles. These collectors opened their homes to let the Post
explore their private collections.
