Bobby Glen Amos and Bertie Hawkins Amos are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, Jan. 14, 2006, at a dinner given by their son at their Salisbury home. The couple were married Jan. 12, 1956, in Rutherfordton.

Bobby retired from Carolina Industries, and Bertie retired from Hoechst-Celanese.

Their children are William Glen Amos and wife Nicole and Glenda Vickers and husband Mike.

Their grandchildren are Harley and EmmaGrace Amos, Misty and Matt Harris and Jamie Vickers. They also have two great-grandchildren, Haley and Brandon Harris.
