CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson freshman Trevor Booker picks up more admirers with each game he plays. Add teammate James Mays to the list.

When asked about the latest of Booker’s accomplishments — 15 points and 12 rebounds in a 67-57 victory over Georgia State on Sunday for his first collegiate double-double — Mays shook his head in amazement.

“What didn’t he do?” Mays said.

The answer was just about everything to help the 25th-ranked Tigers (14-0) remain undefeated and off to their best start in 20 years.

The Tigers can go. They are three wins shy of the school’s all-time best start when the 1986-87 team featuring Horace Grant opened 17-0.

K.C. Rivers added 13 points for the Tigers, who open play in the Atlantic Coast Conference on Wednesday night at Florida State.

No. 1 UCLA 96, Washington 74

LOS ANGELES — Arron Afflalo equaled his career high with 27 points and tied a season high with five 3-pointers, and No. 1 UCLA beat No. 14 Washington 96-74.

The Bruins (13-0, 2-0) concluded a sweep of their opening Pac-10 games after surviving a three-point scare against Washington State on Thursday.

No. 4 Wisconsin 64, Georgia 54

ATHENS, Ga. — Alando Tucker scored 29 points to lead Wisconsin (14-2) to its 10th straight victory.

Wisconsin’s start is its best since the 1913-14 team went 15-0 for the season.

Maryland 94, Siena 75

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Maryland coach Gary Williams wasn’t happy with his team’s effort after a 94-75 victory over Siena on Sunday.

The Terrapins (13-2) trailed several times in the first half and were tied with Siena at halftime before breaking away from the upset-minded Saints (6-5) over the final 15 minutes.

D.J. Strawberry scored a career-high 23 points for the Terrapins, who matched their best record after 15 games since their 2001-02 national championship season.

Charlotte 83, Wofford 62

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte head coach Bobby Lutz had a simple message for his players at halftime of Sunday’s game against Wofford: get aggressive on defense, and get the ball inside.

The plan worked, as the 49ers overcame a sluggish start by dominating the paint and shutting down the Terriers for much of the second half in an 83-62 win.

E.J. Drayton scored 17 points in the final 20 minutes for Charlotte (6-6), which won its third straight.
