We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who supported our Relay for Life Country Christmas Open House on Dec. 9.

First of all, an enormous thank you to all the people of Rowan County who came out Saturday night. We enjoyed meeting each and every person and having you as guests at our home. To the businesses who supported this event by selling tickets, the J.F. Hurley Family YMCA, the Stitchin’ Post, Peekaboo and the Bijoux Collections, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you also to Cheerwine (Carolina Beverage Corp.), Landmark and Bethel Lutheran church ladies and to all our friends for refreshment donations. We appreciate the Salisbury Post, especially Susan Shinn and photographer Sean Meyers, for the nice article and pictures.

To Cecil Lingle, John Lingle and Gene Kepley, thank you for generously allowing us to display your beautifully restored antique automobiles. We are grateful to Tisha Goodwin and Mary Knapp for their assiatance and to all the local businesses who publicized the event. To our family, thank you for lending a hand with preparations and being there that night to make the endeavor go smoothly and be successful.

We were really happy that we were able to host this open house for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Cancer does not discriminate on the basis of age, financial status, sex or race. There are few who haven’t been affected by the dreadful disease either through family, friends or co-workers. Remember the “reason for the season” and may the Lord bless each of you with health and happiness this Christmas and throughout the year.
