Sheriff adds suspect to most-wanted list

Rowan County Sheriff’s officials need the public’s help in a search for a Rowan County man they’ve added to their most wanted list this morning. Officials are looking for Aziz Alim Rahim Al-min, who is also known as 56-year-old Ronald James Rankin. Al-Amin is wanted for a residential house break-in that occurred in the Franklin area in western Rowan County where detectives say jewelry and a firearm were stolen.

He faces charges of felony breaking and entering, eight counts of larceny and felony possession of a firearm by a felon. All of these charges stem from a break-in earlier this month. Al-min has a lengthy criminal history and is believed to still be in the Salisbury area.

Al-min was released from prison in November 2012, according to the N.C. Department of Corrections, after serving a more than 10 years for habitual felon, felony breaking and entering and larceny. In 2001, he was convicted of misdemeanor breaking and entering. In 1998, he was convicted of felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor breaking and entering. In 1993 and 1994, a Rowan County court convicted Al-min of breaking and entering, as well as larceny. He was also convicted in 1996, 1990, 1985 and 1982 of various larceny and breaking and entering charges.
