Here’s the copy of a Nov. 17, 1922, photograph from the Post files showing the Oestreicher’s store in Salisbury. By the number of employees shown with owner Dave Oestreicher, center, the store was quite successful. The business started here in 1902 when Oestreicher moved to Salisbury from Wilson and opened the store on South Main Street. The store’s advertising slogan was “One of Carolina’s Finest.”
