Teen charged with intimidating a witness, again
A 19-year-old who has previously been convicted of intimidating a witness was charged this week with using abusive language toward a child whose bicycle he was charged earlier this year with stealing, reports say.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Mason Disbrow on Tuesday with misdemeanor intimidating a witness. A report said he called out to the child saying he was a “b------” and displayed his middle finger. The child, who is 9 years old, was waiting at the same school bus stop as Disbrow, who lives in the area.
The child’s mother reported the theft of a dirt bike and a bicycle in August. Disbrow and another man were later identified as suspects in the theft of the dirt bike and bicycle. He was also charged this week with probation violation.
In October, Disbrow and three others were charged with breaking into a Starhaven Drive rental home. The property was located in the same neighborhood where Disbrow lives. In 2011, a then 16-year-old Disbrow called a woman from jail telling her he was going to break into her car again. He was later convicted of intimidating a witness.
Disbrow remains in the Rowan County jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
