A thief introduced himself with a card trick Thursday afternoon.
Salisbury Police reported a man approached a woman who had just retrieved cash from the automatic teller machine at CommunityOne Bank on Faith Road.
He came up to her in the parking lot between the bank and Applebee’s restaurant and asked if she’d like to see a card trick.
He also displayed a wad of cash — $120 in denominations of $20 bills. He laid his money on a fast-food restaurant’s food tray along with three cards.
The report said while the woman was looking at the tray, the man grabbed $520 cash from her hand and ran toward the Lowe’s store at Innes Street Market.
The thief, who was not apprehended, was described as a black male with an accent. He had an extremely dark complexion, a bald head and was of medium height. He wore a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants.
