The Rowan-Salisbury School System is seeking public input on three sites under consideration for a new central office.
The district has posted a survey on its website.
At its meeting Monday, the Board of Education got information on 11 possible sites and narrowed the list to three for consideration. They are:
• 329 S. Main St., in Salisbury
• The former Department of Social Services site on West Innes Street at Old West Innes. (The old building would be demolished and a new structure built.)
• In the county-owned Summit Corporate Center off Julian Road at Interstate 85.
The South Main Street site was previously selected by the board. The city of Salisbury owns the property and offered to donate it for the project. However, a majority of county commissioners have resisted building there because, they say, they don’t have proof that contamination at the former service station site has been completely corrected.
People who respond to the survey are required to provide their name, address, site choice and comments. The school board will review all submitted surveys.
