Ethan Shane Overcash
Ethan Shane Overcash graduated magna cum laude from Lenoir Rhyne University on Friday, May 10, 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies with a concentration in Youth and Family Ministries. He will receive his Associate in Ministry in the fall of 2013. While at Lenoir Rhyne, Ethan was a Dean’s List student and was a student marshal his freshman and junior years. He was also a Bear of Distinction Student Ambassador.Ethan completed his internship at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Hickory. While there, he coordinated events for the youth and the congregation, taught the Sunday School class for high school students, and delivered ChildrenÕs Sermons.
Ethan was a member of the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering Practice Discipleship Team. His duties included assisting in the training of youth ministers across the ELCA and participating in the planning of the ELCA National Youth gathering in New Orleans in July 2012. He also served as a NC Synod Young Adult Resource Person. In this position, he provided support for congregations in the NC Synod and led games and devotions for a variety of youth events. In the summers of his college years, Ethan worked at Lutheran Church camps.
A 2009 honor graduate of Jesse Carson High School, Ethan is the son of Jeff and Lisa Overcash of Salisbury, the grandson of Wayne and Judy Cobb of Faith and the late Willard and Dorothy Overcash of Kannapolis. He is the fiance of Cassie McIntosh of Holly Springs. Ethan has accepted a position as Youth and Family Minister at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Charlotte.
