Police need public’s help in search for suspect
Salisbury Police need the public’s help in their search for a Salisbury man they say has a number of outstanding warrants, one of which includes a December robbery at gunpoint. Salisbury Police are seeking William Isaac Darryl Sanders, 30, of the 800 block of Lincolnton Road. Sanders, known as “Ill Will,” has 16 warrants for failure to appear and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. Sanders is no stranger to law enforcement and has a number of convictions beginning in 1999. He was convicted of possession of stolen goods, eluding arrest, larceny, resisting arrest, breaking and entering, possession of counterfeit controlled substances, fictitious information to law enforcement, operating a vehicle without a license, assault on a female, driving while license revoked, driving while impaired and financial card fraud.
Authorities say Sanders robbed a man early one morning in December, taking $20 at gunpoint.
In 2011, Sanders was charged with assaulting a man in a hotel room and on the same night pistol-whipping a man. In 2009, after being released from the Department of Corrections, Sanders was cited by police 24 hours later with marijuana possession. Sanders was also charged in 2009 after police dug up marijuana plants they say he growing in his backyard.
The N.C. Department of Public Safety has Sanders listed as an absconder from the probation/parole system.
