Tony Jerome Hillian graduated from Shaw University May 11, 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Religion and Philosophy, Cum Laude.

As a freshman, he earned the Gold Pin and was on the President’s list for a 4.0 GPA. His sophomore and junior years he earned Silver Pins for GPAs of 3.82 and 3.75, and finished his senior year with a 3.32 GPA and Bronze Pin. Inducted in the ALPHA CHI National Honor Scholarship Society, he received a Leadership award from Shaw University and a Scholarship Award from The Dunbar Alumni Association, Inc.


The son of Samuel and Jacqueline Hillian of East Spencer, he is the grandson of Essie Mae Foxx and the late Howard Foxx, Sr., Samuel and Billie Jean Hillian. He has two brothers, Samuel Hillian, III and Sedrick Hillian, both of Salisbury.

A graduation celebration of Tony’s accomplishments was held at his parents’ home. The Director and Administrative Assistant from Shaw University-Kannapolis Cape were in attendance.
