Two accused of selling stolen items
SALISBURY — Two people were arrested Wednesday on allegations of selling stolen items in two separate cases.
Justin William Presnell, 20, of East Ridge Road in Salisbury, and Ashley Nicole Rattz, 18, of St. Peters Church Road in Gold Hill, each face a felony charge of obtaining property by false pretenses.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office , Presnell sold several jewelry items Saturday to Pearl’s Pawn and Gun Shop in China Grove. Officers found the items while investigating a January break-in on Grant Road in Salisbury.
Presnell was given a $10,000 bond.
Officials say Rattz recently sold an Arlen Ness leather jacket, worth $700, to a third party for $40 while claiming that it was her own. The item had been reported stolen in January by the owner of a camper parked on St. Matthews Church Road.
Rattz was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond.
Last week, the sheriff’s office charged her brother, Keith Rattz Jr., 20, of St. Peters Church Road, with taking items from vehicles in eastern Rowan County and from several campers in and around High Rock Lake. Bryce Honeycutt, 23, of St. Peters Church Road, also was charged in the incidents.
