Three charged in attempted robbery at Zion Hills
SALISBURY — Three people were charged Tuesday with trespassing and attempted common law robbery after forcing their way into a Zion Hills apartment.
The Salisbury Police charged the following:
• Desmond Dewayne Toomer, 28, of North Caldwell Street, attempted common law robbery, also carrying a concealed weapon and second-degree trespassing, both misdemeanors.
• Eric Lamont Miller, 23, of Tanglewood Drive, Salisbury, misdemeanor second-degree trespass.
• Diatra Symone Litaker, 22, of Standish Street, Apt. A, Salisbury, attempted common law robbery.
The three went forced their way into the apartment. Police say Toomer threatened to “shoot up” the apartment.
Toomer and Litaker asked the three occupants of the apartment where was the “stack.” Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said they were looking for money.
Toomer and Miller had been banned from the apartment complex on a previous occasion. Toomer was also in possession of a 4-inch knife.
Toomer remains in the Rowan County jail under a $20,000 secured bond. Miller remains in the jail under a $500 secured bond. Litaker is also still in the county jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
