Bleeding, naked man found behind home

SALISBURY — Salisbury Police investigators are trying to determine the identity of a man found naked behind a Morlan Park Road home after midnight early Friday morning. The homeowners at 220 Morlan Park Road called authorities at 12:30 about a possible break-in at their home.

When police officers arrived, they heard a male voice coming from outside behind the house. Officers discovered the nude man, who is believed to be in his 60s, sitting on a potted plant. The man’s hands were covered in blood, he had a gash on his forehead and cuts to the bottoms of his feet.

Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said officers couldn’t understand what the man was saying. He only made grunting noises. The man fell off the pot and onto his side, then arrested.

Police officers covered the man in a blanket and took him to the police station were Rowan EMS treated his cuts. Emergency personnel were called back to the police station after the man remained incoherent. He was taken by ambulance to Rowan Regional Medical Center. The temperature was in the mid-30s around the time of the incident.
