Salisbury's volleyball team beat North Rowan 3-1 on Wednesday.
Brielle Blaire led the Hornets with 12 kills. Marlaweh Cole led the defense with 16 digs.
Olivia Smith served for 16 points. Cortney Gillespie had three kills, five digs and two blocks. Maddie Gentry served four aces and had four kills, five digs and 14 service points. Bria Gardner and Mary Seifert also contributed to the victory.
Salisbury's jayvees won 2-1.
Lora Withers had 19 service points, including nine aces for the Hornets. Ashley Blaire had 13 service points, including five aces.
• South Rowan lost to West Iredell 3-1 in its NPC volleyball opener.
Mackenzie Reid had 21 digs for the Raiders, while Lynsey Corriher had 15, Tiffany Brooks 12 and Emma Pope 11.•Prep soccer
Salisbury's boys soccer team battled to a 2-2 tie with Northwest Cabarrus.
Zach Sukkasem and Miguel Urbina scored for the Hornets (6-0-1). Bobby Cardelle had an assist.
"Third game in three nights and our fitness was really tested," Salisbury coach Matt Parrish said. "It was up and down - a very good match."

Salisbury's girls tennis team lost 5-4 to unbeaten Weddington (3-0) on Wednesday.
Sallie Kate Meyerhoeffer, Madeline Hoskins and Kayla Honeycutt won in singles for the Hornets (5-2).
Anna Flynn-Honeycutt won in doubles.

Ninety-nine GARS members played a Texas Scramble at The Club at Irish Creek.
The team of Jay Boyce, Tommy Seamon, Bobby Whitesides and Gary Wortman tied for first at minus-5 with the team of John Cress, Jan Kichefski, Frank Rowell and Mick Rowell.
The team of Harry DeVlieger, Kent Houghton, Les Loman and Scott Miller shot minus-4 and tied the team of Don Bishop, Bob Stepanian, Bobby Wagoner and Dave Wilson for second place.
The National ATV Motocross Series finished up in western Tennessee with local racer Grayson Eller earning three top five overall finishes.
Eller competes in three different classes and travels the entire national series.
The 10-race circuit starts in March in Georgia and makes stops throughout the U.S. including Michigan, Illionis, Pennsylvania, New York, Kentucky, Ohio and Mayrland.
Eller took overall wins in Georgia and New York and finished out the series with third, fourth and fourth places in the national standings.

First-round draft pick Courtney Hawkins' stay in Kannapolis was brief.
Hawkins, the 18-year-old Texas High School Player of the Year, appeareed in 16 games with Kannapolis and batted .308 with four homers and 15 RBIs.
n The Intimidators lost 5-4 to Greenville on Wednesday in 10 innings. Grant Buckner had two RBIs for Kannapolis.
