Representatives from several local animal welfare organizations gathered on Saturday morning for a Get Acquainted brunch organized and hosted by The Humane Society of Rowan County. The event was held at the J.F. Hurley Family YMCA in Salisbury.

Participants from How to Save a Life Rescue, Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary, Rowan County Animal Control, Bark for Life, Rescue Rowan, Carolina Bassett Hound Rescue, Maverick Pet Transportation and Rescue and The Humane Society of Rowan County shared the missions of the various organizations. The consensus of the attendees was to continue regular meetings and to consider the formation of a coalition of Rowan County animal welfare organizations.
