Let’s get rid of this litter

Litter, litter everywhere and what a disgusting sight. Salisbury and Rowan County residents, look around at our roadways. If you agree it is an unsightly mess, then consider how visitors to our area, prospective residents and possible business prospects, may take this in consideration in regards to their thought process and decision making.

What do we do? How about if our responsible leaders work with law enforcement and maybe institute a program using inmates to help with this litter problem? It works in other areas, so why not here? I submit that inmates (not all) would volunteer to assist if for no other reason than to escape the boredom of detention.

Ant-litter laws are ignored by many. Whatever it takes to keep our area attractive should and would be a great project and reward to all who care.

Another great event

Just wanted to say thank you to all who set up the Wine about Winter event. Every year it just gets better.

Just to let officials know of the impact,  our little group of seven spent $20 per ticket, another $75 for dinner and another $25 for snacks. So estimate us alone at around $250. Now multiply that by 750 attendees at this event. It’s a huge impact to downtown business on what might otherwise have a very slow winter night.

Salisbury, you are doing it right! We have not missed a single event downtown and, thanks to the Salisbury Police, we feel very safe and always have a great time. The event is great, and time with our friends (all 750 of you) — priceless.

Praying for both sides

To our county commissioners:

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” — II Timothy 3:12. Stand strong. Remember, the battle is the Lord’s.

I’m praying for you.

To Nan Lund and Robert Voelker:

“But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you;

“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” — Matthew 5:44-45

I’m prayer for you also.
