Salisbury VA Medical Center will host a veterans town hall meeting Thursday in Charlotte.

The meeting will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the fifth floor of Corporate Center II, 2359 Perimeter Pointe Parkway, across from the Charlotte Veterans Affairs Health Care Center construction site on West Tyvola Boulevard.

Veterans who are not enrolled in VA health care can bring their military discharge paperwork (DD-214) and apply for enrollment during the event. Staff will be available to help in determining eligibility, filling out enrollment requests forms and scheduling appointments. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The meeting is designed for veterans, family members and other beneficiaries. Also welcome are congressional stakeholders, veterans service organizations, non-governmental organizations and other community partners.

The town hall meeting will be open to the media. To protect individual privacy and confidentiality, individual issues should be addressed to a staff member instead of the public forum.

Executive team members of the Salisbury VAMC will be present, along with leaders from the upcoming Charlotte VA Health Care Center, to provide updates on the facility’s construction and opening.

“The leadership team is looking forward to hearing from local veterans and gaining valuable feedback as we grow our footprint in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and continue to improve our health care system,” said a press release from the VA.

The town hall is presented with support from Childress Klein, a development partner of the Charlotte VA Health Care Center. Parking will be free. Attendees should not park in visitor-only parking, which is reserved for business visitors to the building.
