Wake County authorities have brought charges against a Salisbury man already jailed as a suspect in a number of armed pharmacy robberies. Knightdale Police say Jimmy McFadden Menius Jr. walked into a CVS and took off with $1,000 worth of painkillers.

McFadden, 53, was charged with one count felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was issued a $100,000 secured bond.

Early in July, Mount Airy Police began investigating an armed robbery at the Walgreens there. Menius had become a suspect in the Mount Airy case.

He had also been the suspect in two Walgreens robberies in Salisbury and Spencer in recent months. These robberies were similar, and Mount Airy made contact with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Knightdale Police say on April 29, Menius took four bottles of Alprazolam (Xanax) and 383 tablets of hydromorphine (Dilaudid) valued at $1,066.98 from CVS Pharmacy. During that crime, the robber made threats with a weapon against three women inside the store.

Menius, who remains in the Rowan County jail under a total bond of $400,000, was previously charged with a number of Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy robberies earlier this year not only in North Carolina, but in other states, including Virginia.
