Last night’s substantial rainfall was a welcome surprise, at least in some areas. Today is our last chance for rain in the next seven days. The mugginess is due to 100 percent humidity and lingering fog.

Today will be partly sunny with a high near 90 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. The wind will be calm to start, but may increase to 6 mph from the west northwest.

Tonight, too, has a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, with most tapering off around 9 p.m. The low will be 67.

Then we’re in for a string of sunny days with highs in the 90s.

Friday will be sunny and 89, with a low of 66.

Saturday will be sunny and 90, with a low of 67.

Sunday will be sunny and 91, with a low of 68.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 91 and a low of 69.
