A Spring Gospel Jubilee Concert today

A Spring Gospel Jubilee Concert will be held 4 p.m. today at the J.C. Price American Legion Post #107, 1433 Old Wilkesboro Road. Featured acts will include the New Voices of Faith, the Bright Stars, the All-Male Community Choir of Statesville and other special guests. Tickets are $12 at the door. The concert is a fundraiser for the Rubystene Morrison and Gladys Hawkins Gifts of Love Foundation. Proceeds will benefit the veterans at the Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Tower of Power breafast today

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast of the Tower of Power United Holy Church, 601 E. Cemetery St., will take place today at 8 a.m. The Rev. Anthony Smith, pastor of Mission House, will be the speaker. All men are invited. For more information call 704-223-2608.

Third Creek AME Zion

CLEVELAND — A Spring Extravaganza is planned for today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Third Creek AME Zion Church, 415 E. Main St. Host pastor is the Rev. Harold Jordan. Fish plates are $8. Jerusalem Baptist

SPENCER — Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1570 N. Long Street Extension, celebrates its pastor, the Rev. Dr. David L. Bracken, in his 14th year as its leader. The two-day event is today and Sunday. Today from noon to 6 p.m. features games, prizes and a picnic/cookout.

Pentecost at FUMC

First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St., celebrates the Day of Pentecost with a Festival of Liturgy and Music Sunday morning at the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday services. The Rev. Dr. Mark Conforti will officiate and music will be led by director of music and organist Matthew Michael Brown. Festival music for trumpet and organ will be offered by Anita Cirba, principal trumpeter of the Winston-Salem and Greensboro Symphony Orchestras. Soloists Lurline Richardson and Teresa Moore-Mitchell will join the chancel choir in offering music of Peter Hurford, Moses Hogan, David Hurd, and Phillip Stopford. Informal services at St. Matthew’s

The informal camper service St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 9275 Bringle Ferry Road, was organized in the early 1970s with the idea of welcoming lake visitors and the surrounding community with a service welcoming informal attire. This year’s 8:30 a.m. informal services run from May 24 to Sept. 6, in the family life building. Pastor Gary Coble will deliver the invocation and Michael Thomas will present special music. Formal services will follow with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 10:30 a.m.

Pentecost Sunday at Concordia Lutheran

CHINA GROVE — Pentecost Sunday will be celebrated at Concordia Lutheran Church, on NC Hwy 152 West and Concordia Church Road, at the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services with Holy Communion, plus special music from the chancel choir, children’s choir and Cherub’s Choir at 11 a.m. Remembrance prayers for Memorial Day will also be offered. Pentecost service at First UCC

Pentecost will be celebrated during the 11 a.m. service on Sunday at First United Church of Christ, 207 W. Horah St. Pentecost is celebrated seven weeks after Easter Sunday and is known as the birthday of the Christian Church. Guests are invited to wear red as a symbol of the flames of the Holy Spirit.

College and high school graduates will be recognized during the worship service by circle #7. A covered dish lunch will be held in the fellowship hall afterward. The Rev. Carol Hallman is host pastor.

Friendship Baptist plans outdoor service

Friendship Baptist Church. 100 Porter Road, will be having an outdoor Memorial Day service on Sunday at 11 a.m., followed by a cookout. Friendship Baptist is located on the service road of I-85 and exit 72 (Peach Orchard exit). Host pastor is Jason Pierce.

Erwin Temple CME Twelve Tribes

The Pastor’s Aide Ministry will present the Twelve Tribes Of Israel program Sunday at 3 p.m. Guest churches are invited to participate in representing the Tribes. Gospel singing will be rendered throughout the presentation. Each Tribe group from the different churches will sing. The pastor of Erwin Temple church is the Rev. Ervin L. Hannah, Jr.

Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist

Grace Deliverance Tabernacle celebrates its Apostle Dr. Patricia and Elder M. Family Night at Stallings Memorial

Wednesday, May 27 is Family Night with a meal at 5:30 p.m. Afterward, at 6:30 p.m., is the Men’s Bible study, the Ladies Bible study and one for children and youth. On Thursday, May 28 from 2:30 to 7 p.m. the church hosts a Red Cross Blood Drive.

On Saturday, May 30 is a free event for the whole family — step right up and join the fun. This community carnival will feature games, prizes, face painting, snow cones, popcorn and treats. New Zion Baptist hosts gospel singing

The Women’s Day Committee of New Zion Baptist Church is sponsoring a gospel singing program Saturday, May 30 at 5 p.m. Appearing will be the Lexington Community Choir, Lexington; the Evans Brothers, Charlotte; the True Tone Gospel Singers, Greensboro; William Simmons, bass soloist, Charlotte; the North Rowan Connection Choir; and others. Solid Rock makes homecoming plans

‘Come to the Table’ Conference

ELON — On Thursday, May 28 RAFI and the NC Council of Churches will convene the Piedmont Region Come to the Table conference at Elon Community Church, intended to bring together the community to find ways to relieve hunger and strengthen local, sustainable agriculture. The Rick Webb Family in concert

The Rick Webb Family will be in concert on Sunday, May 31 at First Baptist Church-Salisbury, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., featuring southern gospel singing by one of America’s favorite family groups. They have appeared with Charles Stanley and David Jeremiah. The concert is free and a love offering will be taken.
