Bubble gum, other items stolen at Hurley Elementary School

Police are looking into stolen bubble gum at a local elementary school, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

A burglary was reported at Hurley Elementary School Sunday after the school’s alarm system was activated. Officers who responded to the school didn’t find anyone there, but a door to a classroom that would normally be locked was unlocked.

A bucket of bubble gum valued at $10 along with a box of rubber bands, a remote for a projector and an iPad stylus pen were reported missing.

• A woman reported an assault Monday on the 200 block of Excel Drive in Kannapolis.

• A man reported an assault Monday on the 1100 block of Inglewood Lane in Salisbury.

• A burglary was reported Monday on the 5000 block of S. Main Street in Salisbury.

• A woman reported a burglary Monday on the 13000 block of U.S. 52 in Gold Hill.

• A man reported a larceny Monday on the 200 block of Excel Dr. in Kannapolis.

• A man reported Monday his car was stolen sometime last week on the 100 block of Chippewah Woods Circle in Salisbury.

• Brandon Charles Buddington, 31, was charged Monday with assault on a female on the 10000 block of Bringle Ferry Road in Salisbury.

• Debra Fletcher Springer, 54, was charged with felony larceny Monday on the 300 block of Stone Road in Salisbury.

In Salisbury Police reports:

• A man reported a larceny on the 1300 block of Standish Street Monday.

• A woman reported a burglary on the 500 block of Mahaley Ave. Monday.

• A man reported vandalism on the 400 block of W. Franklin St occurred over the weekend.

• A man reported a larceny on the 200 block of N. Long St on Tuesday.

• vandalism was reported on the 500 block of Pinewood Av. Tuesday

• A man reported vandalism on the 900 block of N. Church St. Tuesday.

• An assault was reported on the 500 block of W. Jake Alexander Boulevard Tuesday.

• A robbery was reported on the 1900 block of W. Jake Alexander Boulevard  Wednesday.

• Curtis David White, 46, was charged Sunday with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 400 block of Park Ave.

• Zachery Rain Forrest Duncan, 23, was charged with resist/delay/obstruct and officer Tuesday on the 100 block of 100 Kerr St.

• Clarence Eugene Rhyne, 49, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Tuesday on the 300 block of E. Council Street.
