GRANITE QUARRY — The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. welcome the community to Geneva I. Oglesby Community Center, 633 Dunns Mountain Road, for their 1908 AKA Playground Community Day of Fun on Saturday, from noon-2 p.m..

The event will include games, music (DJ) and food. Those attending are asked to bring school supplies and backpacks.  The event will also include information from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.

The playground project is in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Community Center to restore, refresh and renew the playground through painitng and landscaping.  The members of Delta Xi Omega will continue beautification on Saturday and invite the community to join them.

The members of Delta Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. have secured permission from the Board of Directors of the Geneva I. Oglesby Community Center to adopt its grounds and playground to restore, refresh and renew. Chapter members are working to improve the aesthetic appeal of the grounds through landscaping and repairing and refurbishing play equipment.
