Chamber of Commerce Trade Show is Thursday

The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Trade Show booth space is sold out. The event is open to the public and free to attend on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the F & M Trolley Barn at 125 E. Liberty St.

The trade show will open to the public at 2 p.m. with an opening prayer in honor of National Prayer Day and a ribbon cutting ceremony. Over 70 exhibitors will showcase the latest products and services in the area. There are goodie bag items and door prizes from Chamber member firms. The Chamber’s Business After Hours mixer will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with complimentary food and a cash bar.

The Rowan Chamber and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s R3 Center will offer free business seminars prior to the opening of the trade show. The seminars will be hosted by the Waterworks Visual Arts Center.

The seminars will be held in the second floor meeting rooms at the Waterworks Visual Arts Center at 123 East Liberty St. Seminars are free to attend; however, seating is limited and reservations are required. Reservations can be made by going to www.eventjoy.com and searching the name of the seminar.

11 a.m. – noon: The Social Media Effect Tara Van Geons (Integro Technologies) will compare the various social media platforms available t0 businesses and discuss what you need to know right now. She’ll cover practical ways to increase social media presence and the benefits of using a social media dashboard.

11 a.m. – noon: Small Business Tips & StrategiesBarbara Hall with the RCCC Small Business Center will offer advice and strategies for small business owners and managers. They help hundreds of entrepreneurs each year launch successful businesses. Assistance with business plans, marketing advice and cash flow management will be covered.

Lunch break

1 p.m. – 2 p.m. – Background Check Solutions – Steve Patterson with Priority Background Solutions can save a business money and countless hours of stress by completing background checks prior to hiring any new employees. They also can help recover past due payments from valued customers in a sensitive and timely manner.

1 p.m. – 2 p.m. — How to do Business with Major Employers. Come hear from Rowan County’s largest employers about how to do business with them. A panel of presenters will share the technology needed and certifications required to become one of their vendors.
