ROCKWELL — Rained out on its scheduled date, this year’s “Fun on the Farm Day” at Happy’s Farm will take place Saturday.

It will feature the Rockwell Lions Club’s First Annual Spring auction. The auction will be supplemented by the East Rowan Chapter of Thrivent Financial.

Registration for the auction begins at 9 a.m. Saturday with all the day’s activities and the auction beginning at 10 a.m. Happy’s Farm is located at 985 Parks Road, Salisbury.

The purpose of the auction is to raise funds to provide eye exams and eyeglasses for visually impaired adults and children who are in financial need.

To donate items for the auction, contact Lions Club member Don Stirewalt at 704-267-5507. His address is 535 Cliff Eagle Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.

Items of all kind are accepted and appreciated, organizers say.

At Fun on the Farm Day, a children’s activity pass is available for $5. It includes horse rides, unlimited play in the Jail Arcade and Western-themed playground, an inflatable bounce house and children’s games with prizes.

The Rockwell Lions and Erwin Middle School’s Alpha Leo Club are sponsors for the event, which also raises funds to rescue animals.

Concessions include country ham biscuits and sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, homemade Cheerwine ice cream and fudge.

Ohh Fudge! will be celebrating its one-year anniversary at the Fun on the Farm Day.

Door prizes also will be offered.
