Boulevard looks like good place for another Zaxby’s

After reading about the proposed Zaxby’s on Jake Alexander Boulevard, I can only say that I am amazed at the Salisbury Planning Board’s lack of vision.

This proposed business, which would only be a drive-through business, could hardly become a traffic problem. Has Taco Bell become a traffic problem? It sits next to a bank, yet the bank does not seem to be struggling with a traffic issue, nor has it been robbed because of all the undesirables that might be lurking around a fast food restaurant.

It’s laughable that this Zaxby’s could possibly interfere with traffic going to a CPA’s office, as though it’s some primary destination point for everyone! Board member Jo-Ann Hoty gave the most ridiculous reason of all, not understanding a need for a restaurant that might be open longer than banker’s hours. Where else on the western side of the city would be appropriate?

Frankly, as a resident of the western part of the county, I am not going to travel 20-some miles to go to Zaxby’s or any other business on the east side of town. It’s too much of an ordeal, passing the miles of offices and auto dealerships, not to mention the endless stoplights, to get there. But, I might go to a business that is more conveniently located on Jake Alexander Boulevard.  Otherwise, I might as well go to Mooresville or even Statesville and spend my dollars in another county.

You never know

Have you ever considered what life would have been like had you not been a miracle of birth? How the people’s lives you have known over the years would be different?

That is a very far reaching effect. You are an important part of many lives and most of them you may never see or even know. Any deed or act of kindness, anything that made another’s day better, could be a difference needed that, without you, would not have happened.

Something said or done to make another smile, a word of encouragement that made their day better.

The things you do to raise your children with good morals may cause them to grow up and make a better WORLD.

You may never know the extent that your kindness given to another will be to their life. But if you were not here to do it? Being who you are matters much more than you think or will ever know.
