Cokie and Steven Roberts’ July 15 column, “Truth as a virtue,” is so on the money correct. I would say the issue  goes further, however, with the highly partisan GOP Congress that pushes and acts on all of those untruths. And the NC GOP General Assembly is just as bad and too highly partisan for words to describe.  The US, including NC, has gotten so far away from truth, justice and decency  that I wonder if we can ever return.  Millions of good, honest people are being hurt badly by it all.
