ASHEBORO — Ben Childress, of Salisbury, won the third flight championship at the 21st N.C. Junior Boys’ 13 and Under Championship here Tuesday at the city course.

Childress won both his second match and championship match by 1-up scores, in 10 holes. Both matches were scheduled to be nine holes, so Childress won both in extra holes.

Childress, who shot an 88 in Monday’s qualifier, won his opening match on Tuesday morning, 3 and 2.
