Rowan weather: A hot week ahead

We have just a 20 percent chance of showers and storms today, but  this afternoon and evening, the thunderstorms could produce frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Some of the storms may become severe.

It will be mostly sunny and 92, with mostly calm winds; a west southwest breeze will blow at 5 mph later today.

We still have a 20 percent chance of showers and storms tonight, with patchy fog forming after 3 a.m. The low will be 72.

Tuesday will be partly sunny and 90, with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 1 p.m. Calm wind will change to the north northwest at 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday night has a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly before 1 a.m. The low will be 70.

Sunny and 89 Wednesday, with northeast wind at 5-7 mph. Clear Wednesday night, with a low of 68.

Mostly sunny and 90 for Thursday, with a partly cloudy night and a low of 70.

Friday will be mostly sunny, too, with a high of 94. The low will be 72.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, but even hotter, with a high of 97. The low will be 73.

And there’s no relief Sunday, when the high will be 96 under mostly sunny skies.
