Spotlight on…Jen and the Juice at The Blue Vine Jen and the Juice, a favorite on the Asheville music scene, offers up hipster swing with a home-squeezed blend of Appalachian Bohemian Americana.
Jen and the Juice is: Jenny Greer (lead vocals, guitar), Joe Buzzelli (drums, percussion), Clint Weninegar (bass, back-up vocals) and Michael J. Libramento (mad guitar).
“We draw a lot of inspiration from folks like Sublime, Beck, Paul Simon, G-Love, Edie Brickell and Taj Mahal,” says Greer, lead vocalist and songwriter for the Juice. While she writes much of the lyrical storyline for the songs, she says she depends on the band to help make their arrangements smart, smooth and funky.
They are working on a new album set to be released this summer. “Meet the Hooligans of Bohemian,” their recent release, made WNCW’s Best 100 Albums for 2006.
