Updated: Shooting reported at Glock Court

SALISBURY — Authorities say armed men wearing masks forced their way into a home on Glock Court early Wednesday and shot a man who lives there.

Michael Bost, 52, was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just before dawn, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release, the residents at a home in the 1000 block of Glock Court were awakened by loud knocking at the home’s door. Three armed gunman, all wearing masks, forced their way inside, demanded money and shot Bost in the abdomen.

The shooting was reported to authorities around 5:30 a.m. Deputies arrived at the address and secured the scene. EMS responded and stabilized the victim, who was then transported by helicopter to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Detectives collected evidence at the scene and conducted interviews with witnesses in the area, the news release said.

Investigators believe the incident was not a random act, but that Bost was targeted by the gunmen, according to the news release. Authorities did not say whey they believe that.

No other information had been provided by Wednesday evening.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the crime to contact Lt. Chad Moose 704-216-8687, or Detective Nate Phillips, 704-216-8684, at the Sheriff’s Office.
