We are so fortunate in Rowan County to have several clean and convenient recycling centers. The employees work so hard to keep these facilities orderly and are grateful for the efforts of the citizens. But, we need to do our part too.

Plastic means plastic containers with necks, but not plastic containers that contained toxic substances like weed killer. No yogurt containers, veggie trays, etc. Yes, they are plastic but not the kind they need. Plastics seem to be the category of most confusion. And it varies by counties, states, etc. so check the local guidelines. Properly recycled, plastics can be used to build benches, playground equipment, etc. Improperly recycled items can make more work for employees or even ruin a load.
