HUNTERSVILLE — East Rowan’s Brady McIntyre was the season champion (South Piedmont Conference Player of the Year) for boys golf.

McIntyre shot 79 in Tuesday’s 18-hole conference tournament at Skybrook.

Northwest Cabarrus’ Logan Swanger shot 71 on Tuesday for medalist honors. He was runner-up for the season, finishing four shots behind McIntyre.

Lake Norman Charter had three of the top four on Tuesday with 73-74-75 and was the season team champion. East Rowan finished second. Northwest Cabarrus was third, with South Rowan fourth, Carson fifth and West Rowan sixth.

South Rowan’s Dane Wheeler shot 80 on Tuesday and finished sixth for the season for all-conference honors.

Also all-conference were Carson’s Jacob Rockwell (7th for the season), West Rowan’s Samuel Faulkner (8th) and East Rowan’s Brody Benfield (9th).

Faulkner had one of the better scores with a 78 on Tuesday.

East’s Griffin Robbins finished 11th in the individual standings.
