Train hits car in Salisbury

SALISBURY — A train reportedly hit a vehicle on the tracks at East Henderson and North Railroad Streets just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Police are still investigation the cause, but said two people were in the car including an elderly male in the passenger seat who was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Officials said the train posed no hazards. The train, according to a representative, was the local freight train that runs to Albemarle and back.
